Merchandiser – MFI
About MFI
MFI is back, and we’re building something truly special! As an ambitious, exclusively online home brand, MFI is dedicated to helping our customers create beautiful, inspiring spaces right across the home—from cozy bedrooms to stylish dining rooms.
We’re growing fast, and our newly established Product Team is looking for a sharp, proactive, and commercially minded Merchandiser to ensure our carefully curated ranges hit peak commercial potential, with stock availability aligned perfectly to customer demand.
The Role
As our Merchandiser, you’ll be the commercial and analytical engine driving the MFI product lifecycle. Working closely alongside our Buyers, Commercial Finance Senior Manager, and central Imports team, you’ll take full ownership of stock availability, intake planning, sales performance analysis, and Open-to-Buy management.
Whether you’re optimizing WSSIs, analyzing trade performance, or fine-tuning intake schedules, your day-to-day work will directly keep our digital shelves stocked, maximize sales margins, and keep our customers delighted.
What You’ll Be Doing
Stock & Intake Planning: Lead regular WSSI updates and demand forecasting across categories and product lines, tracking key trading KPIs and agreeing buy plans with senior leadership.
Trading & Commercial Strategy: Partner closely with Buyers and the Commercial Finance Senior Manager to analyze daily/weekly sales and margin performance, delivering actionable trading insights into weekly commercial reviews.
Open-to-Buy & Replenishment: Drive overall stock health by managing Open-to-Buy budgets, intake alignment, clearance strategies, and markdown proposals to maximize full-price sell-through.
Supplier & Order Strategy: Build strong collaborative relationships with global suppliers to manage order flow, lead times, replenishment schedules, and range performance.
Range & Drop-Ship Merchandising: Collaborate with central teams on intake priorities and manage drop-ship product data to ensure seamless range expansion online.
Commercial Insights & Optimization: Monitor market trends, customer buying patterns, and range performance, continuously identifying opportunities to improve margin, stock turnover, and process efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
Merchandising Background: Proven experience within a retail merchandising, stock planning, or commercial merchandise management function (eCommerce experience highly desirable).
Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of retail trading metrics, WSSI management, Open-to-Buy, margin optimization, and promotional/markdown planning.
Data & Tech Savvy: Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, complex formulas) and comfortable working with merchandise management databases/ERP systems.
Product Passion: A genuine passion for interior design, homewares, and furniture.
Detail & Drive: Outstanding analytical capability, obsessive attention to detail, and a proactive, commercial problem-solving mindset.
Great Communicator: Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to articulate trading performance and collaborate with Buyers, finance partners, and external suppliers alike.
Why Join Us?
This is an exciting opportunity to join an iconic, high-profile brand in its next chapter of online growth. You’ll be right at the heart of our journey, working within a tight-knit, collaborative team where your commercial insights and stock management will make a real, visible impact every single day.
